Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain fluid levels for all machines across the machine shop

• Conducting light machine maintenance daily

• Machine chip disposal

• General shop cleaning and assistance with supplies for cleaning duties

• Operating forklift

• Machine all types of metals

• Generate and check part dimensions during various machining stages with complex measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, special purpose gauges, and scales

• Achieve all required tolerances and finishes that will produce quality parts in a timely manner and for meeting standards as set forth by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality

• Continuous visual concentration with or without reasonable accommodation may be necessary to develop and maintain tolerance

• Ensure all characteristics generated at designated operation are conforming through use of applicable inspection techniques

• Perform setup and operation of equipment to drawings, method sheets, etc., but may be required to supplement this information with own job knowledge on occasion

• May do minor maintenance on machines style

• May be required on a temporary basis, to train operators to use certain equipment which the individual is qualified to

• Responsible for keeping facilities, material and work area orderly exercising care in their use, maintaining good housekeeping practices

• Must adhere to all environmental, health and safety requirements and all quality

• Must actively participate in a team-based environment which includes, but not limited to the following: Active participation in daily team meetings and activities, cooperating and relating

• well with others, practicing direct professional communication with team members, and being open to new ideas from team members and considers opinions different from their own

• Voucher or account for own time accurately using the prescribed system, as well as, electronically maintain records

Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED

• Forklift certified/willingness to become forklift certified

• Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department

• Ability to lift/ push/ pull up to 35 lbs.

Desired Characteristics:

• 1-2 years machine shop maintenance and/or prior aerospace manufacturing exposure

• Ability to be self-directed on daily needs and duties across the shop

• Ability to use computers and learn Microsoft Office

• Education and/or training in machine shop operations

• Understanding of CNC and manual machine operations

• Basic programming knowledge to include reading editing of programs

• Experience in a self-directed team environment

• Lean manufacturing knowledge

Pay

The pay for this position is $22 an hour. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This posting is expected to close on October 31st, 2026.
