- Play an active role in incident investigations, identify root causes, ensure required documentation is completed, and implement corrective actions where applicable.
- Assist in developing, reviewing and auditing the SHMS relating to mining activities in and around the mine excavation.
- Lead, coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance and mentoring employees.
- Provide clear performance expectations to personnel and subcontractors, reinforcing correct behaviours through recognition, encouragement and timely disciplinary procedures.
- Liaise with Mining Supervisors and People & Capability to address employee relations, safety, compliance and production issues promptly.
- Participate in daily pre-start meetings, inspect and audit mining activities, personnel and equipment to ensure acceptable risk levels and authorised operating practices, while championing a culture of safety, integrity, continuous improvement, operational excellence and respect.

About the Role
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, As an Open Cut Examiner at Byerwen, you will ensure the health and safety of persons in and around the surface excavation during the mining activities in or around the surface excavation and to ensure statutory compliance.
