Operational Excellence Manager

Role Purpose & Responsibilities

1. Role : Precious Material Control (PMC)

Ensure effective governance, compliance, and audit assurance for precious material (Gold, Diamonds, Gemstones & if required Silver) control processes across the West region & vendor locations through systematic physical stock audits and process evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct periodic physical stock verification for diamonds and colour stones at the BSO and support for Physical stock verifications at JBO and jewellery vendors (when needed).

· Verify inventory accuracy, traceability, reconciliation, and compliance with established PMC procedures.

· Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify risks related to precious material handling, storage, and movement.

· Monitor BSO compliance with PMC standards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

· Track audit observations, ensure timely closure of action plans, and strengthen governance through continuous process improvements.

· Ensure adherence to organizational policies, statutory requirements, and precious material safety standards.

· Conduct process audit at BSO.

· Enhance material safety and material flow at BSO with collaboration with BSO team.

2. Role : Operational Excellence (OpEx)

Drive a strong culture of Operational Excellence through effective implementation of Total Employee Involvement (TEI) and Daily Work Management (DWM) and 4P 2.0 Audits systems across the West and North Regions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead TEI and DWM deployment across west regions

· Manage TEI Portal including governance and performance tracking

· Ensure robust Kaizen validation and approval process

· Drive Rewards & Recognition (R&R) mechanisms to enhance employee engagement

· Prepare and maintain MIS dashboards and reporting systems

· Collaborate with Central (Hosur) team for standardization and best practices implementation

· Conduct the 4P (People, Process, Planet and Places) audits at West (Mumbai & Surat) and North regions.

· Prepare MIS for 4P audit report

· Share corrective actions on non-complaints to the respective vendors

Job Location & Travel Requirement

· Base Location: Mumbai

· Travel to regional vendor locations (Surat, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Rajkot)

A. Precious Material Control (PMC) :

· Conduct periodic precious material audit process across BSO warehouse and West Regions vendor locations.

· Validate physical inventory against system records and investigate variances.

· Ensure compliance with PMC SOPs, policies, and control procedures.

· Identify control gaps, process risks, and material loss exposures.

· Monitor and closure of audit observations and CAPAs.

· Assess vendor compliance with precious material control requirements.

· Strengthen governance through risk-based audits and process improvements.

· Ensure adherence to security, statutory, and internal control standards.

· Conduct process audit to eliminate system errors, deviations and prevent pilferage.

· Warehouse stock Zeroing process

· Vendor Stones Processing through Apex Portal (From receipt to Dispatch) – BSO

· All manual transaction inside BSO office should be captured in system

· To create SOP / Policy for Stone Inventory Movement for BSO

B. Operational Excellence :

1. TEI (Total Employee Involvement) Implementation

· Drive TEI initiatives across all production areas (casting, polishing, setting, assembly).

o Implement: Suggestion schemes, Kaizen culture, Quality Circles

· Foster a problem-solving culture using QC tools (Why-Why, Fishbone, Pareto, PDCA).

o Monitor TEI KPIs: Participation rate, Ideas per employee, Implementation % and savings

· Conduct awareness programs and recognition initiatives to improve engagement.

2. DWM (Daily Work Management) System

· Deploy and sustain structured DWM practices across shopfloor:

· Develop visual management boards tracking:

o Ensure discipline in: Daily review cadence, Escalation and issue closure

· Drive accountability through data-based discussions and action tracking.

3. 4P – 2.0 Auditing and reporting

· Finalize audit parameters for verification

· Prepare region-wise audit plan

· Conduct audits as per plan

· Review non-compliance points with vendors

· Handhold vendors to close non-compliance issues

Education :

• Graduate / Postgraduate,

• Preferred - Mfg Engineering / Industrial Engineering /Operation management

Language skills :

• Proficiency in English (written) and Hindi (spoken) is mandatory.

Relevant Experience :

• 5 to 7 years of experience in Jewellery Mfg/ Sourcing/supply chain /Operations
