Operations & Automation Engineering Co-op/Intern - Spring 2027

Where will you work: Bartow Manufacturing Facility: 3200 Hwy 60 West. Bartow, FL 33831.

Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

As an Operations & Automation Engineering Co-op/Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting both plant operations and automated control systems in one of manufacturing Phos acid sites. Term 

Jan 11th, 2027 to April 23th, 2027

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week. 

In person. 9/80 schedule if applicable.

What you’ll do

  • Support plant operations by troubleshooting systems and identifying root causes of process issues

  • Assist with optimizing production processes and improving efficiency across plant systems

  • Gain exposure to automation tools, including PLC, DCS, and HMI/SCADA systems

  • Help analyze and improve process controls, including control loops and system performance

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams on projects and system improvements

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.

  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.

  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you’ll need: ​

  • Junior level or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering.

  • 2.75 GPA or higher 

  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred. 

  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred. 

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office. 

  • Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship 

  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination. 

  • Basic computer skills are required

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
