Orthodontic Dental Nurse – Locum – Shrewsbury

We are recruiting for an Orthodontic Dental Nurse to work a three-month locum placement in Shrewsbury, starting Thursday 3 September 2026. This is a two-day-per-week opportunity, working Thursdays and Fridays, offering consistent hours alongside the flexibility of locum work. You will be supporting a specialist orthodontic setting providing NHS and private orthodontic care using modern digital technology.

Working with Flourish Medical as an Orthodontic Dental Nurse offers you:

• Up to £18 per hour, equivalent to up to £17,316 per annum based on 18.5 scheduled hours per week
• Thursdays: 8.45am–7.30pm
• Fridays: 8.45am–4.30pm
• A three-month locum placement providing regular weekly work
• Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement

Required Skills & Experience for this Orthodontic Dental Nurse:

• Qualified Dental Nurse with current GDC registration
• Previous UK-based dental nursing experience
• Orthodontic dental nursing experience
• Good knowledge of infection prevention and cross-contamination procedures
• Confidence supporting orthodontic clinicians and patients
• Comfortable working within a modern digital orthodontic environment

Suitable for Dental Nurse, Orthodontic Nurse and/or Qualified Dental Nurse with orthodontic experience

As an Orthodontic Dental Nurse, your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting orthodontists during NHS and private orthodontic treatments
• Preparing surgeries, instruments and materials for clinical sessions
• Supporting patients throughout their orthodontic appointments
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and high infection control standards
• Assisting with orthodontic appliances, braces and related procedures
• Helping the clinical team maintain an efficient and organised patient journey

This role is based in central Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Shrewsbury is well connected for Dental Nurses travelling from across Shropshire and the surrounding area. This Orthodontic Dental Nurse role may suit Health Care Professionals commuting from Telford, Wellington, Newport, Oswestry, Market Drayton and Bridgnorth as well as surrounding Shrewsbury areas including Copthorne, Monkmoor and Harlescott.
