As a Paint Quality Technician - Product Quality Controller (PQC) within the Paint Quality department you will support as we seek to maintain and improve the quality of machines leaving the Desford facility. You conduct audits/inspections on parts and partially or fully built machines.  

What you will do: 

As a Quality Technician, you are accountable for, but not limited to: 

  • Conduct audits on parts and partially or fully built machines following  inspection best practice/methodologies. 

  • Record defect information in detail via electronic, manual processes or visual boards. 

  • Investigate, analyse and identify Root Cause, and operate the NCM (Non-Confirming Material) process. 

  • Conduct Basic visual and dimensional inspection as part of investigations. 

  • Rework parts and machines as required.       

  • Must be willing to work a multi-shift pattern.

Job Title: Paint Quality Technician / Product Quality Controller (PQC)

Vacancies: 3 (1x Days, 1x Afternoons, 1x Nights)

Salary: £28,969 rising to £30,450 (20% shift allowance for afternoon shift, 27% for night shift) 

Contract: Permanent 

Benefits: 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays - opportunity to buy and sell, Bonus, Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution Up to 10%, Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution, optional flexible benefits including access to private health and dental care plans, EV car lease etc.

Hours:  

Days Monday: 05:30– 14:30 Tuesday to Thursday 06:00–14:30 & Friday: 6:00–11:00  

Afternoons Monday: 14:00–23:00 Tuesday to Thursday 14:00 – 22:30 & Friday: 10:45 – 15:45

Nights Monday: 00:00–6:00 & 22:30-06:30 Tuesday to Thursday 22:00 – 06: 30
