Chemistry Lab Assistant
Part-Time | Approximately 19.5 hours per week

Under the direction of the Chemistry Lab Supervisor, the primary purpose of this position is to apply technical knowledge and laboratory experience in order to assist the short and long term functions of the chemistry laboratories. To attain these goals, the candidate will coordinate and implement the set-up of student laboratory exercises, in support of all courses within the Chemistry Area of the STEM Department, including chemical solution preparation and analysis, hazardous waste handling, and assisting with the training and direction of student workers in the absence of the Chemistry Lab Supervisor.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field. 

  • 1 to 3 years experience working in a Chemistry laboratory preferred; hands-on laboratory experience may be considered.

  • Ability to communicate in written and oral form, and work well with others in a team   environment.

  • Highly organized and proactive with the ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

HOURLY RATE $24.2818 - -$25.9815 (commensurate with experience)
