Job Description

Join the team at Gilpin Spice, our vibrant, open‑kitchen pan‑Asian restaurant inspired by flavours from across the Spice Trail. We’re looking for a full‑time Pastry Chef de Partie who brings precision, creativity, and confident energy to a fast‑paced, theatrical kitchen. You’ll run the pastry section with organisation and flair, prepare desserts rooted in bold, flavour‑driven cooking, and support the brigade in delivering the lively, immersive dining experience that defines Gilpin Spice.

Set within the heart of the Lake District National Park, Gilpin Hotel & Lake House is part of Relais & Châteaux and Pride of Britain Hotels, celebrated for exceptional hospitality, refined presentation, and warm, personalised service.

Gilpin Spice is a colourful, high‑energy restaurant with an open kitchen serving pan‑Asian dishes inspired by the Philippines, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and China. The pastry team plays a crucial role in delivering a bold, flavour‑led dining experience built on teamwork, organisation, and technical skill. With a lively rhythm and a commitment to exceptional produce, Gilpin Spice is a destination for chefs who thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

We’re seeking a skilled, motivated, and detail‑driven Pastry Chef de Partie to join the Gilpin Spice brigade. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the pastry section, preparing vibrant, flavour‑forward desserts with accuracy, consistency, and pride. You’ll work closely with senior chefs to maintain high standards, contribute to dessert development, and uphold the organisation and discipline that define the Spice kitchen.
