Full description from employer
You will develop the path-planning capabilities of our interceptor, turning mission objectives and estimated vehicle and target states into feasible trajectories.
Building on this foundation, you will extend the system toward multi-agent autonomy, enabling multiple interceptors to coordinate and adapt even without a continuous ground connection.
You will implement the system in ROS 2 and work closely with perception, flight control, communications and our Mosaic ground-control system.
What is your Day to Day Mission:
Develop path-planning and trajectory-generation algorithms for a single interceptor.
Account for target motion, vehicle dynamics, obstacles and changing mission conditions.
Integrate planning with perception and flight control through ROS 2 and MAVLink.
Validate performance through simulation, SITL/HITL, log analysis and flight testing.
Extend the planner toward multi-agent coordination, trajectory deconfliction and collision avoidance.
Develop cooperative behaviors for formation flight, mission handovers, replanning and recovery when communication is limited.
What you bring to the team:
Strong path-planning fundamentals are essential. Experience with swarm autonomy is a plus, not a requirement.
Experience with path planning, trajectory optimization, graph search or guidance.
Strong implementation skills in C++ or Rust and hands-on experience with ROS 2.
A solid understanding of vehicle kinematics, dynamics and constrained planning.
Experience with simulation, autonomous vehicles or real-world robotic systems.
The drive to take algorithms from the whiteboard through simulation and into real flight.
