What you'll do
- Performs all outpatient and inpatient registration functions.
- Ensures that patients meet financial requirements.
- Provides general information to hospital users, patients and families.
- Communicates effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service.
- Provides excellent patient focused customer service.
- Assists with scheduling and activates orders as applicable.

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to deal with abstract concepts and interpret verbal, nonverbal, and written instructions.

- Two years’ experience with patient contact.
- Basic Medical terminology knowledge.
- Medical insurance verification and authorization experience.
- Ability to speak Spanish.

Job Description
The Ancillary Access Representative will typically be located in Laboratory and Radiology Registration areas, but will be able to assist in all areas, including:
• Check-In Desk
• Emergency Department Registration
• Outpatient Registration
• Inpatient & Observation Registration
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a Patient Access Representative or Patient Access Scheduling Representative.
Clear and concise communication skills required in order to effectively interview patients/families and to exchange information with hospital staff members, physicians, and third party payors.
Concise written communication and keyboarding skills required.
Detail oriented.
