What you'll do

  • Assist the Payroll Master in preparing and processing payroll cycles for Canada (ADP), the US (Surepayroll) and India, ensuring accurate and timely payment to all employees.

  • Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding payroll, escalating complex questions to the Payroll Master as needed.

Job Description

The Payroll Coordinator supports the Payroll Master in the end-to-end payroll processing for employees located in Canada, the United States and India. This role is a strong fit for someone early in their payroll career who wants to build deep, multi-jurisdictional payroll expertise while contributing to the modernization of MEDFAR's payroll and HR systems, including the ongoing HRIS implementation. The Payroll Coordinator works closely with the Payroll Master, HR and Finance to ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll across all regions.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing Support

  • Assist the Payroll Master in preparing and processing payroll cycles for Canada (ADP), the US (Surepayroll) and India, ensuring accurate and timely payment to all employees.

  • Collect, validate and input payroll-related data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, timesheets and expense reports.

  • Help track and process RRSP contributions and remittances on behalf of employees.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize payroll processes across the three jurisdictions.

  • Take on increasing payroll responsibilities over time under the mentorship of the Payroll Master.

Qualifications

Ideally you have:

  • 1–3 years of experience in payroll, HR administration, or a related finance/accounting function; multi-jurisdictional exposure (Canada, US and/or India) is an asset.

  • Working toward or interested in pursuing a payroll certification (e.g., PCP with the National Payroll Institute).

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and a methodical approach to data accuracy.

  • Comfortable working with payroll or HRIS systems (experience with ADP or Surepayroll is an asset, not required).
