What you'll do

- Partner with hospital and medical staff leadership to strengthen quality, safety, and patient outcomes
- Promote collaboration among physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and hospital departments
- Participate in program development, performance improvement, and physician engagement initiatives
- Support the continued growth of pediatric services
- Serve as a liaison between Kaweah Health and Valley Children’s Healthcare

Job Summary:
Valley Children’s Healthcare is seeking an experienced and collaborative pediatrician to serve as Medical Director of the Pediatric Hospitalist Program at Kaweah Health in Visalia, California.This position offers the opportunity to lead and provide hands-on clinical care within a community hospital while benefiting from the resources, subspecialty expertise, and regional network of Valley Children’s Healthcare. The Medical Director will help advance the delivery of high-quality pediatric care, ensuring that children and families throughout the South Valley receive exceptional care close to home.
Job Description:
Position Highlights:
- Lead the Pediatric Hospitalist Program at Kaweah Health
- Round on a high-volume newborn census in a level I nursery
- Provide inpatient care on a 12-bed pediatric unit
- Evaluate pediatric patients through Emergency Department consultations
- No delivery attendance required; Level III NICU on-site
- Consolidated scheduling consisting primarily of 24-hour shifts with some 12-hour shifts, offering fewer commuting days and greater flexibility outside of work
- Full time is 7 24-hour shifts/month or 14 12-hour shifts/month
- Coordinate escalation or transfer of patients requiring subspecialty or higher-acuity care through the Valley Children’s network
- Help shape and strengthen pediatric care for children and families in Visalia and surrounding communities

Qualifications:

Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive leadership compensation (Salary Range: $240,000 - $270,000)
