No previous data center experience? That's okay.

We're looking for dependable, mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working with technology, traveling, and being part of a team. If you're eager to learn, willing to work hard, and ready to develop new technical skills, we'll provide the opportunity.

As a member of the PGTEK Academy, you'll receive hands-on experience working alongside experienced deployment engineers supporting some of the largest enterprise and AI data centers in the country.

  • Rack and stack server, storage, and networking equipment
  • Swapping components (switches, servers, etc.)
  • Perform cable management and labeling (connecting power whips)
  • Placing, setting and leveling racks
  • Assist with hardware installations and upgrades
  • Replace server components such as hard drives, memory, power supplies, fans, and network cards
  • Perform basic hardware troubleshooting
  • Assist with inventory management and asset tracking
  • Follow customer installation procedures and quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Travel to customer data centers throughout the United States

Requirements

We're less concerned with previous IT experience than we are with attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Ideal candidates possess:

  • Military experience (active duty, Reserve, National Guard, or veteran) strongly encouraged
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and hardware
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and team-first mentality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Dependability and professionalism
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on your feet throughout the day
  • Comfortable traveling 60–70% of the time
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air

Preferred Qualifications

Any of the following are a plus, but not required:

  • Basic computer hardware knowledge
  • Experience building PCs or working with electronics
  • Military communications, signal, intelligence, aviation, maintenance, electronics, or IT experience
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification
  • Trade school, vocational training, or technical education

During your time in the PGTEK Academy, you'll gain experience with:

  • Enterprise server deployments
  • Rack & Stack best practices
  • Copper and fiber optic cabling
  • Cable management
  • Server hardware installation and replacement
