With Rostrum, students benefit from a strategy that can increase their chances of admission up to 5 times, helping them turn their ambition into achievement and applications into success stories.

Position Overview:

We're seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Postgraduate Admissions Counsellor - Senior Associate to guide students through graduate and professional school admissions in masters. This role centers on building tailored admissions strategy and supporting profile building for each student, helping them present their strongest, most authentic application. The ideal candidate brings strong research and communication skills, and a genuine investment in student growth at a more advanced academic and career stage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Admissions Strategy & Application Support
  • Counsel prospective applicants on program options, specializations, and career trajectories, shaping an admissions strategy suited to each student's goals.
  • Guide profile building through SOPs, essays, resumes/CVs, and recommendation strategy.
  • Advise on test prep (GRE, GMAT, LSAT), international application procedures (LSAC, GradCAS), scholarship/financial aid options, and interview prep.
2. Student & Parent Engagement
  • Maintain regular communication with students and parents via calls, emails, and progress reports, tracking student growth throughout the admissions journey.
  • Support webinars/workshops on admissions trends, SOP writing, and program selection.
  • Address student and family concerns promptly and professionally.
3. Data Management & Research
  • Maintain accurate records of applications, timelines, and student growth milestones in the database.
  • Track global program trends, rankings, specializations, and policy changes to keep admissions strategy current.
  • Support students in profile building for competitive scholarships and fellowships.
4. Team Contribution & Mentorship
  • Mentor junior counsellors on admissions strategy, profile building, and application review best practices.
  • Own escalations within your portfolio; contribute to process and strategy improvements.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Student and parent engagement (check-in consistency, responsiveness)
  • Application quality and turnaround time (SOPs, essays, recommendations)
  • Client satisfaction and escalation resolution
  • Admission outcomes across assigned student portfolio

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required; a Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred, with preference given to candidates who have studied at a top US/UK university.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and research skills.
  • Excellent writing ability, with close attention to detail in reviewing applications, SOPs, and essays.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), G Suite, and CRM tools.
  • Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading junior team members is a plus.

Why Join Rostrum Education?

  • Work with a highly experienced team of mentors, including former Ivy League and Oxbridge admissions officers.
  • Take on a senior role with visibility into strategy and process, not just execution.
  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Clear path for career advancement in the education consulting sector.
  • Be part of a mission-driven team shaping students' futures.
