About the Role

As a Primary Class Teacher, you will take full responsibility for your class, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

You will work closely with fellow teachers, teaching assistants, the SENCO and senior leadership team to ensure every pupil receives the support and challenge they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum.
• Take responsibility for the academic progress, development and wellbeing of pupils within your class.
• Create a stimulating, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Set high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour and engagement.
• Differentiate lessons effectively to meet a range of abilities and individual learning needs.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil attainment and progress.
• Use assessment information to inform future planning and teaching.
• Set clear and achievable learning objectives.
• Provide regular, constructive and meaningful feedback to pupils.
• Identify pupils who require additional support or further challenge.
• Plan and deliver targeted interventions where appropriate.
• Support pupils with SEND and work collaboratively with the SENCO.
• Deploy teaching assistants effectively to maximise pupil progress.
• Establish clear classroom routines and maintain high standards of behaviour.
• Promote independence, confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Attend and contribute to parents' evenings, staff meetings and school events.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, assessment and interventions.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, development and evaluation.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across year groups and key stages.
• Participate in CPD and ongoing education and training opportunities.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities, enrichment opportunities and the wider life of the school.
• Follow all school policies and procedures.
• Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and promote the welfare of every child.
