Primary Teacher – KS1/KS2

Location: BD15, Bradford

Contract: Temporary – Day to day
Pay: £160–£180 per day
DBS: Enhanced DBS required

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teacher to join a welcoming school in the BD15 area of Bradford on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on experience and preference.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher looking for a temporary position within a supportive primary school environment.

Day-to-Day Work

As a Primary Teacher, your typical day will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.

• Teaching either KS1 or KS2 classes according to your experience and the school’s requirements.

• Taking responsibility for the learning and progress of pupils within your class.

• Adapting lessons and activities to meet different learning abilities and individual needs.

• Managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.

• Marking and assessing pupils’ work and providing constructive feedback.

• Working alongside teaching assistants and other school staff to support pupils.

• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.

• Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and attainment.

• Participating in staff meetings, briefings and other school activities where appropriate.

• Building positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents/carers.

• Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements.

• Supporting the wider life of the school, including assemblies, break/lunch duties and school events where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.

• Create a positive and supportive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs.

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and school leaders.

• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to school assessment processes.

• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.

• Primary teaching experience, ideally within KS1 and/or KS2.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

• Enhanced DBS clearance is required or willing to obtain one.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a school team.

• Enthusiasm, reliability and a positive approach to teaching.
