Job Description

Ready to be the person who turns numbers into decisions?

At EDF, we're looking for an experienced finance professional who loves seeing the bigger picture behind the data. You'll be at the heart of our Customers Finance team, helping senior leaders understand performance, shape strategy, and make decisions that support both our business and Britain's journey to net zero.

This is a role where your expertise will be valued, your insights will be heard, and your work will influence decisions at the highest levels. Because at EDF, Success is Personal.

The Opportunity

As a Principal Financial Reporting Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our financial reporting is accurate, insightful, and supports effective decision-making across the business. Working within our Financial Control & Reporting team, you'll lead the production of performance reporting, forecasting, budgeting and regulatory submissions, while partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.

You'll be the trusted expert helping leaders understand what the numbers are saying today, and what they could mean tomorrow. Whether you're consolidating financial results, leading planning cycles, supporting regulatory reporting, or driving improvements in reporting processes, you'll have a genuine impact on how the business operates.

You'll join us on a salary starting from £60,000 per annum, with the potential for an annual bonus. This is a hybrid role ideally based in #London, working from our Nova North office up to one day per week.

Beyond the day job, you'll gain exposure to senior leaders from the outset, work in a team that genuinely supports development, and can shape improvements across a fast-moving, evolving business. If you're looking for a role where you can make your mark rather than simply produce reports, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Principal Financial Reporting Accountant who combines technical excellence with strong commercial awareness. You'll be a naturally curious finance professional who enjoys understanding what drives business performance and turning complex information into clear insights.

To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • A full accounting qualification or working towards completion (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Strong industry experience in financial accounting and reporting
  • Experience producing and analysing Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements
  • Proven experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems
  • Experience presenting financial information and recommendations to senior stakeholders

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading monthly financial reporting and consolidation activities
  • Producing performance packs and financial insights for senior leadership teams
  • Managing forecasting, budgeting and planning cycles across the business
  • Supporting regulatory reporting, audit requirements and corporate submissions
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to reporting processes, controls and systems

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary from £60,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That's why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that's unique to you. Here, Success is Personal. It's your journey, powered by us.

Everyone is welcome at EDF. We're committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve and creating an inclusive environment where people can thrive. As a Disability Confident employer, we'll support applicants who need adjustments throughout the recruitment process.

Join us and find your success at EDF.

Closing Date: Sunday 27th September
