About this role
- To own YBL Vision, Values and Mission.
- Reprogramming somatic cells to establish disease and healthy and disease iPSC lines, ensuring reproducibility and quality compliance throughout the process.
- Differentiating iPSC lines to target derivatives (e.g., cardiac, neural, skin cell types) using lineage-specific protocols
- Developing and validating NAM models which are Fit for Purpose and Context of Use (CoU).
- End-to-end characterization of differentiated cells including lineage marker expression by immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and RNA/protein-based assays.
- Development and validation of CIVMs– Complex in vitro models and validation e.g. organoid, organ on chip.
- Knock in knock out studies using CRISPR technology.
- Documentation and maintenance of detailed records for all characterization assays to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Drive the QMS process as per the ISO 9001 and 13485 compliance.
- Set scientific vision and drive strategic research direction for iPSC disease modeling, differentiation technologies, and translational applications.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams in designing, optimizing, and scaling iPSC manufacturing and differentiation processes using cutting-edge techniques.
- Oversee process development from early-stage research to non-cGMP-ready manufacturing, ensuring scalability, compliance, and technology transfer.
- Guide project portfolio prioritization, establish milestones, and proactively manage timelines, budgets, and resources for high-impact internal and external programs
- Function as a key scientific reference, providing expert advice, troubleshooting, and decision-making support for junior and senior scientists across multiple active projects.
- Represent scientific programs at regulatory meetings, conferences, and strategic partner engagements, shaping industry standards and responding to agency inquiries.
- Champion innovation in assay development, process engineering, and automation for iPSC platforms, with a focus on next-generation manufacturing solutions.
- Take accountability for global technical alignment, troubleshooting complex scientific and operational challenges across company sites or partner collaborations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high data integrity, driving quality control, safety standards, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Responsible for ALCOA+++ and GMP compliance practices.
