Principal Software Architect

As we transition from a service-oriented model to a product-driven platform, we are expanding our hybrid Bengaluru-based team. In this role you will work UK hours- 2pm-11pm IST. We are seeking a Principal Software Architect to lead the evolution of Konovo’s AI-enabled platform ecosystem and define the architectural foundations that will power our next generation of healthcare intelligence solutions. 

Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will provide architectural leadership across eight product-anchored engineering pods operating within a Scrum delivery model. You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Data, AI teams, and executive stakeholders to ensure technical decisions align with both business objectives and long-term platform strategy. 
 
You will own the architecture review process, influence product and technology roadmaps, and define the patterns, processes, and engineering policies that enable teams to build scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. This role is responsible for architectural oversight across multiple product teams spanning customer-facing applications, data platforms, AI powered services, and internal systems. As Konovo continues its evolution from a services-led organization to an AI-enabled platform company, you will play a critical role in defining the technical foundations that accelerate innovation, improve operational efficiency, and create sustainable competitive advantage. 

How You'll Make an Impact: 

• Own the architecture review process across all engineering teams and ensure alignment with platform strategy. 

• Establish and maintain architectural standards, engineering policies, governance frameworks, and best practices. 

• Define reusable patterns and reference architectures that improve consistency, scalability, and engineering efficiency. 

• Provide architectural leadership across customer-facing applications, data platforms, AI services, and internal systems. 

• Define and evolve Konovo’s enterprise architecture strategy and technology roadmap. 

• Influence product and technology roadmaps through strategic architectural guidance and partnership with Product and Engineering leadership. 

• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to create business value through innovation. 

• Lead platform modernization initiatives including API-first architectures, event-driven systems, cloud optimization, and technical debt reduction. 

• Define architecture patterns that enable AI-native products, intelligent automation, machine learning, and generative AI capabilities. 

• Partner with Data and AI teams to establish scalable, secure, and operationally sustainable AI platforms. 

• Ensure quality, reliability, observability, security, and resilience are built into platform design. 

• Mentor senior engineers, staff engineers, and technical leaders while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement. 

• Collaborate with globally distributed teams and stakeholders across multiple geographies. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant software architecture and technical leadership experience. 

• Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale SaaS platforms and distributed systems. 

• Experience providing technical leadership across multiple engineering teams and products simultaneously. 

• Proven ability to establish architectural governance, standards, and engineering practices within a scaling organization. 

• Demonstrated success partnering with Product and Engineering leadership to align technology strategy with business outcomes. 

• Deep expertise in distributed systems architecture, microservices, domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, enterprise integration patterns, and API-first platform design. 

• Strong understanding of cloud-native SaaS platforms, performance engineering, scalability, reliability, observability, and security-by-design. 

• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred) and modern platform engineering practices. 

• Experience influencing strategic technology decisions and long-term platform direction. 

• AI-native mindset with experience evaluating, implementing, or enabling AI and machine learning solutions. 

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement. 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience). 

• Experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, messaging/event platforms, data platform architecture, healthcare technology, or AI-enabled products is a plus.

• AI & Analytics: Machine Learning Platforms, Generative AI, RAG, MCP Analytics & Data Processing Systems
