What you'll do

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing, partnering with Operations, Quality, Engineering and Scheduling.
  • Develop a strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, unit operations and control strategies.
  • Lead and support deviation investigations and root cause analysis, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
  • Drive process improvement and optimisation, reducing waste and variability while improving efficiency, yield and throughput.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including COMAH, DSEAR, process hazard reviews (PHRs) and safety/environmental investigations.
  • Act as a technical SME during internal, external and customer audits.
  • Develop technical documentation, including PFDs and technical reports, and maintain relevant process safety information.
  • Support capital projects, including user requirements, equipment selection, commissioning and qualification activities.
  • Coordinate and execute plant trials and implement process changes through site change-management processes.
  • Share technical knowledge and coach colleagues across Technical Operations and Process Teams.

Your Role:

As a Process Engineer, you will provide technical and process engineering support to manufacturing operations at our Speke site. You will help ensure processes operate safely, compliantly and efficiently while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, yield and throughput.

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of chemical/process engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to analyse technical problems and apply structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively across Operations, Quality and Engineering teams.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications): 

  • Chartered Chemical Engineer (IChemE) status or working towards chartership.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
