Job Description

At our Gillette plant in Berlin, which employs around 500 people, we use state-of-the-art high-tech control and manufacturing systems to produce wet-shaving heads for the premium Fusion, Labs, and Venus shaving systems. 

The Process Engineer for the Material Handling System (MHS) will be part of a specialized team within the Site Services group responsible for the smooth operation of the AGV-system handling all material transports within the whole Gillette manufacturing plant. The Process Engineer MHS will report to the department leader. The focus of this role will be projects for the optimization of the Material Handling System and the solution of obsolescence topics with a holistic approach on all material transports in the factory and the objective to make the system ready for an unattended operation.

This role will have a significant impact on the future manufacturing operation by enabling a smooth and seamless material transport between all areas of the plant and thus further enhance our our unattended manufacturing operations.  

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

• Analysis, development and continuous improvement of the MHS
• Improvement of existing systems
• Further automation of the MHS 
• Planning, calculation, and implementation of technical projects
• Create standards related to the root cause to eliminate issues permanently 
• Maintain & create new strategies to improve MHS reliability 
• Execution of system tests 
• Analysis and comparison of variants for technical development potential 
• Coach people on problem solving & system improvements 
• Cooperation with vendors

Job Qualifications

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor or master degree within a technical field (preferably Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology or Mechatronics)
• Demonstrated technical mastery
• Some practical experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Preferably experience and special interest in material handling systems
• Experience in project management and financial planning of projects
• Strong communication skills, assertiveness, teamwork, and leadership skills
• Initiative, flexibility, and ability to coordinate. 
• Very good German (minimum C1, ideally fluent or native) and solid English language skills.
