  • Responsible for documenting current production processes, ensuring that the resulting documents are clear and complete, addressing any critical safety and quality requirements.
  • Responsible for handling technical concerns escalated from personnel on the shift, including escalation to the Process Improvement Manager or others as needed
  • Responsible for identifying and executing continuous improvement projects throughout the production process.
  • Works closely with the Lead Operator and shift Supervisor to ensure processes are followed safely and effectively.
  • Responsible for communicating project or task status and expected completion date.
  • Follow direction from the Process Improvement Manager on priorities and contribute ideas from the shift for consideration.
  • Prepare reports or presentations for personnel across the organization to perform training or communicate project status as needed.
  • Prepare appropriate shift hand-off information to ensure that the next shift is up to date on current activities. Also prepare summaries as needed for other members of the Operations group to understand problems or test results.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is hiring a Process Improvement Specialist to join our team in Morrisville, PA. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our mission of delivering innovative specialty chemical solutions to customers worldwide.

The Process Improvement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the needs of the Production group in developing appropriate Standard Operating Procedures, troubleshooting technical problems, and leading and/or participating in Continuous Improvement projects.  This position will serve as the primary technical resource on their shift and assist the shift supervisor in leading the shift.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$100,000. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
