As a Procurement Manager, you will lead indirect procurement activities supporting Caterpillar's Power & Energy operations. You will serve as a strategic business partner responsible for driving sourcing strategy, supplier performance, procurement execution, and continuous improvement across a broad portfolio of indirect goods and services that support manufacturing, facilities, and business operations.

This role combines procurement leadership, supplier management, business partnership, and people leadership responsibilities. You will lead a team of procurement professionals while partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations leaders to ensure suppliers, contracts, and procurement strategies are aligned with business objectives.

This position offers the opportunity to influence procurement strategy, develop talent, strengthen supplier partnerships, and deliver measurable value across a critical segment of the business.

What You Will Do

Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Lead procurement activities supporting indirect spend categories across Power & Energy facilities.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with operational requirements and business objectives.
  • Support supplier selection, contract negotiations, competitive bidding, and purchasing decisions.
  • Leverage supplier insights, market intelligence, and business analytics to improve procurement outcomes.

Supplier Management & Procurement Operations

  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
  • Manage supplier performance related to quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and partnership expectations.
  • Lead supplier issue resolution and performance improvement activities.
  • Support contract administration and procurement governance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and business controls.

  • Collaborate with Category Procurement teams.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of four Procurement Buyers supporting Power & Energy operations.
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and career development support.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish team priorities and align resources with business needs.
  • Drive capability development across sourcing, supplier management, analytics, and procurement operations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, and Operations leaders.
  • Serve as a trusted procurement advisor to business stakeholders.
  • Align procurement strategy with operational requirements and business priorities.
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects across the organization.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships that drive business results.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Utilize procurement analytics and business intelligence to identify trends, risks, and savings opportunities.
  • Analyze spend data and market conditions to support sourcing and category decisions.
  • Improve procurement processes, workflows, and operational performance.
  • Implement best practices that enhance procurement effectiveness and organizational value.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
