An innovative and rapidly growing technology business is seeking a Procurement Manager to support a major laboratory expansion project at its Cambridge site. With significant growth plans, international expansion and ongoing investment in research and development, this is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation at a pivotal stage in its journey. The role will play a key part in supporting the relocation and fit-out of laboratory facilities, managing significant equipment expenditure and ensuring the business has the supplier partnerships and procurement processes required to support continued growth.

Your new role

• Managing procurement activity for laboratory equipment, technical services and associated operational requirements.
• Supporting a major laboratory relocation and expansion project.
• Leading supplier negotiations and contract renewals to deliver commercial value and service improvements.
• Developing and managing supplier relationships across specialist technical categories.
• Supporting capital expenditure projects and equipment investment programmes.
• Reviewing existing contracts and maintenance arrangements to identify opportunities for improvement and cost optimisation.
• Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to understand future requirements and procurement priorities.
• Ensuring procurement activity is conducted in accordance with established governance and compliance requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience of sourcing laboratory, technical, engineering or specialised equipment.
• Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing contracts and capital equipment procurement projects.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and operational stakeholders.
• Commercially focused approach combined with excellent communication skills.
• Experience supporting business growth, facility expansions or major investment programmes would be advantageous.
• CIPS qualification or progress towards qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
