About this role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Product Compliance & Sustainability Specialist to join our MECCA-Maginations (MECCA MAX, MECCA COSMETICA, kit:) team, supporting the delivery of compliant, safe and responsible products across our growing portfolio. 

Working at the intersection of product development, compliance and sustainability, this role will partner with teams across MECCA and external experts to help bring products to market responsibly across Australia, New Zealand and international markets. 

The Role You Could Play: 

As our Product Compliance & Sustainability Specialist, you’ll provide compliance and sustainability support throughout the product development lifecycle, helping MECCA navigate evolving regulatory requirements while protecting our brands and customers. You will: 

  • Manage product compliance documentation and review formulations, ingredients, artwork, labelling and product claims against relevant regulatory and market requirements 

  • Support international expansion by assessing product compliance requirements and partnering with regulatory experts across relevant markets 

  • Coordinate product claims substantiation, testing and certification processes, ensuring appropriate supporting evidence and documentation is maintained 

  • Monitor regulatory and industry developments, providing clear guidance to cross-functional teams and identifying and escalating potential compliance risks 

  • Support MECCA’s sustainability commitments, including sustainability claims, reporting, responsible sourcing requirements and product and packaging data 

What You Will Bring: 

You’re a curious, detail-oriented compliance professional who can confidently navigate complex requirements while building strong relationships across the business. Ideally, you will bring: 

  • 2–3 years’ experience in product regulatory compliance, ideally within cosmetics, therapeutic goods, personal care or related product categories 

  • Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand regulatory and compliance requirements, with international market compliance experience advantageous 

  • Experience working within an FMCG environment and an understanding of the new product development lifecycle 

  • Exposure to sustainability, responsible sourcing and product or packaging sustainability requirements 

  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems proactively and clearly communicate compliance requirements and risks
