Objective of the position

As a Cybersecurity Engineer within the Global Engineering and Innovation team at Stoneridge Electronics, you will be responsible for driving cybersecurity development and engineering processes and ensuring the implementation of cybersecurity requirements across software and hardware architectures.

You will collaborate closely with product owners and other engineering teams across multiple customer projects, aligning diverse competencies and ensuring compliance with relevant automotive standards and internal development guidelines.

  • Support incident response, vulnerability handling, and post‑development monitoring activities as required by automotive cybersecurity regulations.
  • Contribute expert input to the wider vehicle cybersecurity community, strengthening product robustness and compliance.

Education, experience and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product cybersecurity, including cybersecurity or safety management processes.
  • Proven experience implementing ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE R155 / R156, with solid knowledge of cryptographic algorithms (e.g. RSA, AES, SHA, CMAC, GMAC).
  • Strong understanding of security risk management, compliance, policies, and standards, preferably in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with automotive product development lifecycles; experience with hardware/software security, HSM, SHE, secure boot, or secure updates is a strong plus.
