Job Description

Lead the new product development of hose and couplings. Including developing the product concept through the design, analysis, validation testing, and ultimately the hand off into production.This position is responsible for working with purchasing and manufacturing on issues related to materials and production, and with sales providing technical assistance to customers where required. Position is hands-on, fully engaged in the prototyping, testing, and analysis of new products. Travel to customer applications to investigate current and future opportunities, with project ownership.

Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering duties and assignments that include product development, product support, and sales support.
• Analyze and interpret engineering data submitted for new products and for modifications affecting standard products.
• Develop product assembly methods.
• Modify designs using standard engineering practice to effect improvements and meet customer requirements (New and existing products)
• Use of CAD software in the preparation of drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Ensure accuracy of designs, dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, etc.
• Work with manufacturing to methodize production operations, tooling requirements, feasibility of manufacture or sub-contracting, labor, and material cost estimates, etc.
• Confer with the Sales Department to assist in answering product-related technical questions.
• Oversee the manufacture, assembly and testing of newly developed products.
• Inspect and analyze product failures from the field and testing.
• Devise test set-ups and analyze test data.
• Interface with the customer to professionally represent the company in person and remotely.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Strong mechanical inclination and a desire to pursue hands-on design engineering.
• Proven experience applying advanced analytical and problem-solving methodologies including mathematical modeling, simulations and control theories to design, development, and process optimization using industrial equipment.
• Must have a deep desire to learn, a solid understanding of engineering principles, and a passion for designing creative solutions to challenging problems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize system performance.
• At least three year’s experience in a position designing fabricated/assembled components.
• Strong understanding of material properties and failure modes.
