Product Marketing & Portfolio Manager

Summary: 
The Product Marketing & Portfolio Manager is a mid-level professional who manages product lifecycle tasks, coordinates go-to-market initiatives and develops product positioning for the personal care category. This role takes ownership of projects of moderate complexity and ensures product development and marketing deliverables are completed accurately and on time. This role collaborates with internal partners to support successful product launches and lifecycle transitions. 

 

Essential Functions: 

• Own execution of assigned go-to-market (GTM) plans, including tracking deliverables and coordinating with cross-functional teams. 
• Draft product positioning statements, claims, and benefit-driven messaging for new products and updates. 
• Conduct lifecycle reviews and recommend new product strategies, updates, transitions, or phase-outs based on performance. 
• Collaborate with R&D, creative, regulatory, supply chain, and sales teams to deliver formulas, finished goods, packaging, labeling, and sales tools. 
• Support data analysis and reporting to guide portfolio decisions and product optimizations. 
• Maintain GTM documentation and trackers, ensuring alignment with global and local teams. 
• Mentor or provide guidance to junior-level team members as needed. 

 

Skills & Qualifications: 

• Strong understanding of product development and marketing workflows, lifecycle management, and go-to-market processes. 
• Skilled in developing product business strategies, positioning, claims, and messaging frameworks. 
• Effective project management and organizational skills. 
• Ability to analyze sales and marketing data to inform decisions. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management tools; familiarity with Airtable, Wrike, or Bynder preferred. 
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills. 

 

Required Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field, and 5 years of experience in product marketing and product management, specifically in the personal care category.
• A combination of education and experience may meet this requirement. 

 

Preferred Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field. 
• 5 years of experience in product marketing, portfolio management, and/or marketing operations. 
• Experience with product lifecycle management or category management. 

 

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. 

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention. 

Exact hour requirements can be reasonably modified as necessary for the business needs by the employee’s manager. 

Physical Demands: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
