About this role

About Us

Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.

Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.

About the role

We are looking for a Product Operations Intern, who will work directly with the Product Operations Principal to structure, monitor, and optimize P&P operations and processes.

AI is at the core of this role: you will actively identify, prototype, and deploy AI-powered workflows to make the P&P team faster and more efficient, while contributing to product reporting, product competitive intelligence, product data, and configuration management across our product lines.

Our team needs someone who is rigorous, structured, and genuinely excited about leveraging AI daily to turn scattered information into clear insights and streamlined processes. No prior PLM or hardware product knowledge is required; the ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts is key.

Responsibilities

  • AI Productivity Leverage: Identify process bottlenecks across P&P operations and design, prototype, and deploy AI-powered workflows to eliminate them from automated reporting and data structuring to document generation. Lead brainstorming sessions, benchmark emerging AI tools, and evangelize the solutions adopted so the whole team levels up.

  • Design, build, and deploy an AI-powered product and competitive intelligence tool: Gather needs from Product and Program Managers, automate the collection and structuring of market and competitor data, deliver actionable insights through dashboards and periodic briefs, and document the tool to ensure team adoption.

  • Reporting & KPIs: Maintain weekly dashboards and KPIs to track product activities, leveraging AI and automation wherever possible to keep everyone updated on the progress of our product development.

  • PLM Deployment Support: Contribute to the deployment of our PLM tool by helping define its structural architecture and data models, preparing and migrating product data, and collecting feedback from the product team.

  • Product Catalog: Help build, structure, and maintain an up-to-date global product catalog, ensuring data consistency and completeness across product lines.

  • Configuration Management: Support the implementation of configuration management processes for hardware and software, in collaboration with engineering and development teams.

  • Tooling & Standardization: Assist in the selection, deployment, of IT tools, and contribute to harmonizing the methods used by the P&P team.

  • Product & Program Support: Provide ad hoc support to Product and Program Managers, such as helping resolve cross-functional issues.

Candidate requirements

  • Educational Background: Currently in the final or penultimate year of a Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • AI-Native Mindset: Hands-on experience with modern AI tools (e.g., LLM assistants, AI agents, automation platforms) as part of your daily workflow; curiosity to experiment, and the reflex to ask "can AI do this better?" before doing anything manually.

  • Project Execution & Ownership: An adaptive learner with the ability to navigate tasks, offering creative solutions and collaborating effectively within a team to drive high-quality project results.

  • Adaptability & Mobility: Thrives under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; embraces a "no-task-is-too-small" mentality.

  • Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of leading diverse principals.

  • Commitment: 100% dedication to Harmattan AI's mission, vision, and ambitious growth plans, ready to go the extra mile to ensure operational excellence.

We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
