Catalent’s Greendale, Indiana site is a key part of the company’s Wellness business, serving as one of North America’s primary gummy development and manufacturing centers. The site specializes in the formulation and production of traditional gelatin gummies and 100% plant‑based pectin gummies for nutritional supplements and nutraceutical applications, supporting a wide range of consumer health products. With strong in‑house R&D, quality laboratories, and flexible manufacturing and packaging capabilities, the Greendale operation partners closely with customers to develop innovative, high‑quality, and consumer‑friendly gummy delivery formats across a variety of flavors, shapes, and functional ingredients, all produced under rigorous quality and food‑safety standards.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Production Manager to join our team. In this role, you will ensure production requirements are fully achieved on time and in full compliance within assigned areas across multiple shifts; ensure employee safety, product quality, proper sanitation, cost controls, and environmental needs meet all legal and company requirements and standards; achieve this by effectively managing teams, driving continuous improvement, empowering people, and motivating and developing their capabilities.

Leadership includes communicating the vision and mission to build understanding and commitment to achieve objectives; develop people by building teams and recognizing and developing the potential of all production personnel; proactively collaborate with other plant and company departments to ensure alignment; model expected behaviors to create and maintain a workplace culture that engages and motivates employees at all levels; focus on results by setting ambitious objectives and taking initiative to reach and exceed them.

Location: Greendale, IN
100% Onsite

The Role

• Oversee and direct the planning and execution of daily production activity.

• Direct and manage the operations to improve performance through continuous improvement methodology and problem analysis to reduce unscheduled downtime, minor equipment stops, breakdowns, process upsets, material quality losses.

• Analyze, report and complete daily production reports, gap analysis, continuous improvement initiatives.

• Supports the development and implementation of financial and non-financial objectives for the facility including the annual budget, financial forecasts and operating plans.

• Utilizes data to facilitate the timely, accurate interpretation, and reporting of performance, quality, and safety data.

• Schedule, train, and mentor team so that they can produce at maximum efficiency.

• Ensure adequate staffing, direction and corrective action.

• Responsible for driving issues to root cause and developing a zero-loss mentality.

• Perform other duties as assigned

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

• High School/GED required

• 5-7 years of experience in the confectionary, food, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods packaging industry.

• Able to handle multiple tasks with capability of prioritizing and planning work activities.

• Ability to prioritize and follow-through to achieve results and meet deadlines.

• Strong leadership skills, with an ability to build trust, provide direction, and execute with excellence.

• Strong foundation in interpersonal communication concepts, specifically, written, oral, presentation, listening, and facilitation skills.

• Ability to facilitate change, foster innovation and results.

• High energy level and excellent follow up skills.

• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and develop effective solutions.

• Knowledge of machinery operations and equipment, as well as troubleshooting.

• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with ability to improve and promote quality and safety.

• Continuous improvement and/or Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.

• Personnel must be able to frequently reach for, grasp, lift, carry or otherwise handle objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; be able to demonstrate the dexterity necessary for fine manipulation components, products, and controls; be able to sit, stand, walk, climb or kneel. 

• The use of Personal Protective Equipment is required in all operations and warehouse areas, including but not limited to slip-resistant protective footwear, protective eyewear, hearing protection, reflective vests, gloves, and smocks.     

• While performing the duties of this role, personnel may routinely work in proximity to or be exposed to lights, loud noises, hot or cold temperatures, moving components, powered industrial vehicles, cleaning materials and other operational conditions.
