About this role
Aga Khan Rural Support Programme India (AKRSP India) is a non-denominational, non-political, non-government organization. AKRSP India was established in 1983 and it seeks to contribute to rural poverty reduction through community involvement and empowerment that leads to efficient management and an improved environment.
Position Summary: The Programme Specialist – (NRM) will be responsible for implementing and supporting sustainable water and land base initiatives in the Dhule , Nandurbar districts region. This role involves working closely with local communities, farmer groups, and internal teams to promote climate-resilient water and land base practices, enhancing livelihood of rural community
Key responsibilities:
- Liaise with donors and government departments to ensure program alignment, compliance, and collaboration.
- Provide comprehensive support to teams engaged in water and Land based projects across regions.
- Conduct field survey, site selection, mapping, and planning of implementation.
- Support in construction of structure to conserve water and reduce soil erosion.
- Conduct training and capacity-building sessions for field staff, village leaders, and representatives from government and non-government organizations.
- Develop training manuals and conduct needs assessments to tailor interventions effectively.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain high-quality documentation of program activities and outcomes.
- Draft program proposals aligned with organizational goals and donor expectations.
- Analyse and understand program areas, identifying key issues, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong linkages with local stakeholders, community institutions, and service providers.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors in English, supported by field data, photographs, and monitoring inputs.
- Conduct procurement and budget analysis to support program implementation and financial planning.
- Analyse program data and document impactful case studies for learning and replication.
- Monitor program progress and provide strategic recommendations to enhance effectiveness.
- Conduct program impact assessments and document measurable outcomes.
- Oversee and manage all procurement processes of programme
- Coordinate with program, administration, and finance teams to develop procurement plans and budgets.
- Maintain and regularly update a database of reliable vendors and service providers.
