What you'll do
- Own project-level accounting for assigned projects — reviewing and validating invoice coding and project allocation, partnering with Accounts Payable on invoice and payment support, and coordinating the project financing (draw) package as the accounting point of contact.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Finance, Development, Construction, Operations, and Procurement to ensure accurate accounting and cost allocation across a multi-entity organization.
- Prepare and own monthly and quarterly project reconciliations, continuously improving processes, controls, and supporting documentation.
- Help document and improve accounting processes and procedures to support a growing organization.
- Prepare internal and external project-level reporting.
- Support month-end close and financial audits, recommending procedural improvements to ensure accounting and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as requested.

The Role
The Project Accountant will report to the VP, Accounting & Financial Reporting and be the primary liaison between Accounting and the Finance, Development, Construction, and Operations teams.
This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to take ownership of their projects and help improve how the work gets done. The Project Accountant will gain broad exposure across the business and have a real hand in shaping process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
• Own project-level accounting for assigned projects — reviewing and validating invoice coding and project allocation, partnering with Accounts Payable on invoice and payment support, and coordinating the project financing (draw) package as the accounting point of contact.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Finance, Development, Construction, Operations, and Procurement to ensure accurate accounting and cost allocation across a multi-entity organization. This is a highly visible role with significant cross-functional interaction and the opportunity to influence and improve business processes.
• Prepare and own monthly and quarterly project reconciliations, continuously improving processes, controls, and supporting documentation.
• Help document and improve accounting processes and procedures to support a growing organization.
• Prepare internal and external project-level reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
