Job Description

Job  Summary

The Planner/Scheduler specializes in using Primavera P6 for scheduling. The PCA takes charge of managing SAP. For smaller projects, the PCA is a multi-tasker, handling both P6 scheduling and SAP tasks like closing WBS, Project Progress reports , invoicing clients, and maintaining project schedules.

He also creates and maintains the schedule using input from various departments and the Project Manager. They monitor and control project activities in collaboration with the Project Manager and stakeholders.

○Typically involved in large or complex projects.

○Uses scheduling tool: Primavera P6.

Essential Responsibilities / Expectations

 

Tasks During Planning Phase:

• Develop the initial project schedule based on the contract and kickoff meeting discussions.
• Identify contractual milestones and dependencies between stakeholders.
• Identify the critical path and total float.
• Freeze the project schedule during the Project Planning Set Up meeting.

Schedule Updates During Execution Stage:

• Conduct regular project schedule reviews with project stakeholders.
• Update the schedule based on progress reports and decisions from project reviews.
• Track progress of tasks and update the baseline as needed.
• Document all project changes (e.g., change orders, staff changes, delays) for future reference.

Closing Phase:

• Update the final schedule to reflect the actual project execution (as-built data).

• Information Included in the Schedule:

  • The specific information included in the project schedule depends on contractual obligations and internal agreements. However, some key elements typically include:

  • Project milestones (start date, completion dates, etc.)

  • Project management milestones, Engineering deliverables Procurement activities (RFQs, POs, vendor deliverables)

• Civil work completion and permitting

• Installation activities

• Commissioning activities

• Closeout activities (trial operation, handover)

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering (BE)

Highly experienced Primavera P6 professional with 7–10 years of hands-on implementation, administration, and enterprise project controls experience.
