At Leonardo, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Manager to lead the Test Equipment delivery for the Fire Control business within Airborne AESA Radar Sector.

Based on site in Edinburgh you will lead and manage the delivery of test capability to a number of Integrated Project Teams, enabling the delivering of Fire Control Radars to several customers.

You will be joining the Airborne AESA Radar Sector at an extremely exciting time of investment and growth. As such, the successful applicant with be central to delivering the success of the Fire Control business.

 

What you will do as Project Manager for Fire Control Test Equipment

• You will lead the Integrated Project Teams in the successful delivery of a compliant project in line with the Customer, Contractual and Legislative requirements. Achieved through effective planning and management of team performance and project schedule and cost.
• In addition, this role will require a systematic approach to maximise value creation within the commercial constraints.
• You will ensure effective communications to proactively encourage project delivery across all functional business areas to achieve cost, quality and schedule within budget.
• You will proactively monitor project progress, resolve issues and initiate appropriate corrective action.
• You will identify and manage risks to the production project, including the development of contingency plan.
• You will engage with Integrated Project Teams, and vendors in line with level of accountability.
• You will conduct project reviews and make recommendations to appropriate business areas.

 

What you’ll bring

You will typically be degree qualified in a business or engineering related discipline or an equivalent suitable level of work experience.

You will have Project Management experience in managing small to medium sized projects with multiple stakeholders.

Able to develop strong, trusting relationships at all levels within the business and externally and be able to influence effectively at all levels.

You will have strong leadership and motivational skills.

You will be enthusiastic and well organised.

You will have the ability to embrace and work to tight timescales/deadlines.

You will possess effective and flexible communication, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills.

A pro-active approach with a "can do" attitude, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency.

 

And it would be beneficial if you have:

A working knowledge of SAP

PMP qualification, (or working towards a PMP qualification)
