Property Underwriter - General Insurance – 2+ Years - Indore/Vadodara

Are you an experienced Property / Non-Motor Underwriting professional with strong risk assessment and decision-making skills? We are looking for a professional to evaluate and underwrite retail insurance proposals across Property, Fire, Burglary, Engineering and other non-motor, non-health insurance segments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite retail insurance proposals across Property, Fire, Burglary, Engineering and miscellaneous non-motor products.

• Assess risk exposures, policy terms, coverage requirements and pricing to ensure appropriate risk selection.

• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, pricing models and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Monitor the performance of underwritten risks and contribute towards portfolio profitability.

• Analyze portfolio trends and identify areas requiring corrective action, particularly in relation to adverse loss ratios.

• Provide technical underwriting support to channel partners, brokers and other intermediaries.

• Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations and internal audit requirements.

• Provide inputs on product features, market trends and opportunities for product enhancement.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Property / Fire / Non-Motor Underwriting within the General Insurance industry.

• Hands-on experience in risk assessment, proposal evaluation, underwriting and pricing.

• Exposure to Property, Fire, Burglary, Engineering or other non-motor insurance products.

• Strong understanding of underwriting guidelines, policy terms and risk selection.

• Knowledge of IRDAI regulations and insurance underwriting practices.

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with an understanding of portfolio performance and loss ratios.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with exposure to brokers/intermediaries.

• Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Insurance, Risk Management or a related field.

• III certification such as Associateship/Fellowship will be preferred.

• Proficiency in MS Office and underwriting tools.
