Proposals Engineer (Mechanical)

Key Responsibilities:Sizing and Estimation: Accurately size and estimate process equipment in line with client requirements and company standards.Proposal Development: Prepare and present technical and commercial bids and proposals that align with client specifications and meet business objectives.Cost Estimation: Develop comprehensive cost estimates that adhere to the company’s technical and commercial guidelines.Bid Evaluation: Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations, prepare clarification responses, and manage the proposal process to meet client and company needs.Database Management: Utilize and maintain the company’s contract quotation databases and quote management systems effectively.Compliance: Ensure adherence to all company policies, Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements, and industry standards throughout the proposal process.Skills and Experience:Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience:A minimum of 10 years of experience in the mechanical design of minerals processing equipment, including filtration, flotation, and agglomeration.Proven track record in applications, sizing, estimating, and preparing bids/proposals, along with demonstrated success in sales generation.Technical Expertise:In-depth knowledge of design codes, client specifications, and the ability to read manufacturing drawings, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).Familiarity with drafting tools such as AutoCAD and Inventor is advantageous.Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Attitude: Proactive and positive, with a strong focus on business development and supporting colleagues across different functions.Teamwork: Ability to work cooperatively and constructively within a culturally diverse team environment.Quality Focus: A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and delivering value to both the company and its clients.
