About this role
**This is a direct hire position with one of our clients in Seattle, WA. This role will report onsite M-F with occasional remote work on Fridays at the managers discretion. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**
Our client is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join their growing team in Seattle, WA. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who has some purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience and is looking to continue developing their career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with our existing purchasing team member to support inventory procurement, vendor management, purchase order processing, inbound shipments, and inventory operations.
Responsibilities
Create, process, and manage purchase orders.
Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and inventory requirements.
Assist with inbound shipment tracking, consolidation, and reconciliation activities.
Work closely with accounting to resolve invoice and receiving discrepancies.
Partner with warehouse teams to ensure incoming inventory matches expected quantities and specifications.
Support international purchasing activities involving suppliers and shipments from Europe and China.
Maintain purchasing-related data within ERP and inventory management systems.
Assist with inventory planning and preparation for seasonal business cycles, e-commerce demand, and wholesale fulfillment.
Support procurement activities related to company trade shows and product samples.
Develop strong vendor relationships and contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.
Qualifications
Approximately 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or a related business function.
Experience working within an ERP system.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to take initiative and move work forward independently.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team environment.
Preferred
Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (GP).
Experience with SalesPad or similar inventory management platforms.
Purchasing or procurement experience within manufacturing, retail, consumer products, or inventory-driven businesses.
Experience coordinating shipments, inventory replenishment, vendor communications, and receiving activities.
