Summary We are looking for a skilled Python Developer (Data & Reporting) to join a dynamic technology team supporting enterprise data, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives within the financial services domain. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, SQL, data modelling, and API development, with a passion for building scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business reporting.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand development requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
2. Design, develop, and maintain applications using Python, SQL, and data modelling best practices.
3. Develop and enhance data processing, reporting, and business intelligence solutions.
4. Support and enhance reconciliation, clearing, risk management, and reporting platforms.
5. Build, maintain, and optimize REST/SOAP APIs and data integration solutions.
6. Design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL queries for performance.
7. Develop automation tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
8. Participate in code reviews, release management, and CI/CD deployment processes.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
10. Mentor junior developers and contribute to the growth of the development team.
11. Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
12. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and technology innovation.

Requirements

1. Strong hands-on experience with Python development.
2. Excellent knowledge of SQL and database design principles.
3. Experience with data modelling and schema design.
4. Proficiency in Python libraries such as Pandas and SQLAlchemy.
5. Experience with PostgreSQL, MariaDB/MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
6. Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and release management (GitLab preferred).
7. Experience developing and consuming REST or SOAP APIs.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
10. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
2. Exposure to hybrid cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or VMware.
3. Knowledge of XML, FIX, and FIXML messaging standards.
4. Experience within financial markets, particularly Exchange Traded Derivatives.
5. Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
