Are you an experienced Analytical Chemist with a passion for quality, precision, and problem-solving? We are looking for a QC Analytical Chemist to join our fast-paced Quality Control team based at our Church Stretton manufacturing site.
We design and manufacture highly specialised polymeric particles for diagnostics, solid-phase synthesis, and chromatographic applications supporting a wide range of industries.
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring our raw materials, intermediates, and finished products meet stringent quality and performance specifications. Working with cutting-edge analytical instrumentation you will conduct both routine and complex testing, contribute to method development, and help drive process improvements within the lab.

Key Responsibilities
Testing & Analytical Operations

Routine & Non-Routine Analysis: Conduct chemical and physical property testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


Test Method Development: Execute validation, assays and MSA studies to support product lifecycle and quality standards.
Quality, Compliance & Documentation.


Data Integrity & Review: Compile, document and review test data for strict compliance with specifications. Report any abnormalities, out-of-specification (OOS) results, or process deviations.


Product Release: Certification, stock control and authorize release of conforming materials.


SOP Maintenance: Author, revise, and update Standard Operating Procedures as needed to align with continuous improvement and regulatory standards.

Projects & Cross-Functional Collaboration 
Special & Cross-Functional Projects: Lead and contribute to analytical projects focused on method optimization, new test introduction, and technical investigations alongside Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering and Quality teams.


Technical Support: Provide analytical expertise for customer investigations and cross-functional business initiatives.


Knowledge Sharing: Support team training and share technical knowledge across the laboratory where appropriate.
 

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline.
Experience: Hands-on practical experience working in a Quality Control or analytical testing laboratory environment.
Analytical Techniques: Strong proficiency with HPLC / GPC equipment, method application, and general analytical data analysis.
Chromatography & Instrumentation (Desirable): While GC-MS or LC-MS skills are highly desirable to support occasional specialized testing, the role is primarily focused on general liquid chromatography and wet chemistry. Additional experience with FTIR, UV-Vis, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, or automated titration is a plus.
