Summary:

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading quality assurance strategy and execution to support the delivery of reliable, compliant, and high-quality software solutions. The role provides leadership to a geographically distributed QA function and ensures the consistent application of quality standards, methodologies, and tools across the product development lifecycle.

The position is accountable for advancing QA maturity, reducing defect leakage, and establishing scalable quality practices aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Major Activities:

Quality Strategy & Governance

  • Defines and implements quality assurance strategies, standards, and testing methodologies across the organization.
  • Establishes and monitors QA governance frameworks, including tools, processes, and metrics.
  • Ensures alignment of QA practices with regulatory, compliance, and accessibility requirements.
  • Provides strategic direction for quality assurance during onboarding of new systems, products, or markets.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Leads and develops a distributed QA team, including employee development, coaching, and performance management.
  • Supports capability development across manual testing, automation, performance testing, and release validation.
  • Oversees both internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent quality outcomes.

Delivery & Execution

  • Oversees testing activities across the software development lifecycle, ensuring readiness for release and product stability.
  • Collaborates with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, and Customer Support to embed quality into delivery processes.
  • Ensures effective integration of QA into Agile and DevOps environments.

Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Defines, tracks, and reports on quality metrics (e.g., defect leakage, test coverage, release defect rates, partner QA performance).
  • Leads root cause analysis initiatives and drives process improvements to enhance product quality.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement across the QA function and broader delivery teams.

Automation & Technical Enablement

  • Drives adoption of automation-first testing strategies integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Guides the selection and use of appropriate test automation and performance testing tools.
  • Ensures testing approaches support scalability, security, and performance requirements.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in software quality assurance, including at least 3 years in leadership roles managing distributed teams and vendors.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing QA strategies across enterprise or distributed organizations.
  • Proven ability to build, scale, and lead QA functions across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Experience leading and coaching both onshore and offshore teams.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication capabilities, with the ability to operate across technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience working within Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance practices supporting secure, scalable, and high-performing platforms.
  • Expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Postman) and performance testing tools.
  • Experience defining and managing QA metrics, governance, and reporting frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills, including risk assessment, issue resolution, and decision-making under pressure.
  • Experience working within enterprise-scale platforms, ideally in regulated or compliance-driven industries.
  • Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, and accessibility requirements relevant to digital products.
