An exciting contract opportunity has become available for a Quality Conformance Engineer within the aerospace industry at Bristol. This Quality Conformance Engineer role sits within a manufacturing quality team focused on driving quality improvements, reducing the cost of non-conformance, and supporting operational excellence across production environments.

The successful Quality Conformance Engineer will work closely with production, quality, and cross-functional teams to analyse quality performance, lead investigations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This contract role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on quality performance within a complex aerospace industry manufacturing environment in Bristol.

Responsibilities

• Analyse quality performance data, generate KPIs, and identify trends to reduce the cost of non-quality.
• Provide data-driven insights and trend analysis to support continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to identify and implement quality improvement opportunities.
• Lead and facilitate quality improvement projects, ensuring clear ownership and effective action management.
• Escalate quality performance concerns through KPI analysis and support mitigation activities.
• Promote and coach the use of quality tools and methodologies, including problem solving, error proofing, and quality planning techniques.
• Review, develop, and monitor operational surveillance activities to ensure consistent build quality and operator competence.
• Lead investigations into complex technical and quality issues, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Support the reduction and resolution of quality concessions, quality events, and related plant issues.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements.
• Provide quality support to internal and external stakeholders as required.

Skills and Experience

• Experience within the aerospace industry or a similar complex manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of aircraft manufacturing processes and quality assurance principles.
• Proven experience driving process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret quality metrics, trends, and KPIs.
• Experience working with and influencing cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
• Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, error proofing, root cause analysis, and structured problem solving.
• Strong communication, presentation, and technical report writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with exposure to automation, coding, or macros being advantageous.
