What you'll do

  • Responsible for product (Machined, welded, painted) & equipment Quality including setup approval (FPI), In-process inspection, final Inspection/testing as per drawing, standard, QAP and Quality documentation/ compliances in component unit.
  • Perform product and process validation as per the above standard.
  • Well familiar with calibration and handling of precision / various measurement methods eg. CMM, Surface finish tester, Hardness tester etc. and ensure on time calibration
  • knowledge of GD & T , NDT, Welding (Prequalification and documentation as per ASME, EN) and surface treatment process and their testing methods.
  • Coordinate for Customer inspection, Third party Agency Inspector
  • Troubleshooter - Problem analysis & resolution by using various tools/ techniques
  • Coordination with other departments like manufacturing /Production support/Sourcing
  • Ensure compliance. Eg AL production system / ISO9001 / ISO45001 / Food / PED etc
  • Handling of Internal – External Customer claims/ Quality issues.

  • Degree / Diploma Engineer in Mechanical / Production / Welding stream with minimum 4 years of experience in Quality function from engineering industries, Automotive organizations.
  • Shall have good knowledge of using measuring instruments, preparing Quality control plans & statistical analysis.
  • Shall have good knowledge of CNC machining, Welding & Assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of Material & test standards (ASTM / EN/ISO)
  • Well conversant with measurement systems (Conventional, MM)
  • Awareness of ISO systems for Quality, Health, Safety & Environment
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing tools, Six sigma & 5S concepts.

Nice to have

  • Lean Six sigma green belt / Black belt is desirable

The position / About the Job:

In this job the Quality Engineer would be responsible for:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Expectations & Responsibilities:

• Align overall targets and KPIs to factory goals

• Ability to inspect components, assembly & testing, Process audit as per drawing/QAP/Roote card/ manual and AL specification (Plan Vs Actual)

• Daily tracking of quality issues/deviations

• Ability to communicate deviation and suggestions upward and lateral with superiors and peers.

• Analyze process deviations and facilitate root cause analysis and solutions via suppliers supported by support functions

• Knowledge of direct contact / In direct contact measurement methods and destructive & non-destructive testing methods, Basic understanding of gauge calibration, MSA, FMEA, etc.

• Zero inspection errors/inaccuracy during inspection.

• Drive small projects for process improvements

• Provide support and active participation in ALPS.
