Quality Engineer (CAT 1)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer – CAT 1 with strong expertise in Software Quality Assurance, Process Quality Management, Quality Management Systems, process compliance, audits, metrics management, risk management, and continuous improvement. The candidate must have at least 7 years of relevant experience as a Quality Analyst, Process Excellence professional, Software Quality Assurance professional, or Process Quality Engineer. The candidate should have predominantly worked with IT software or software development companies and must possess excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. The role requires close interaction with project teams, delivery leaders, senior management, customers, auditors, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

● Ensure process compliance and adherence to the organisation’s Quality Management System. ● Implement, maintain, and improve QMS processes across software-development projects. ● Conduct project quality reviews, process-compliance assessments, and internal audits. ● Support assessment preparation, audit readiness, and internal and external audit activities. ● Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 and applicable CMMI practices. ● Track project-level quality metrics, risks, escalations, non-compliances, and improvement actions. ● Define, analyse, and report SDLC and project-quality metrics. ● Identify process gaps and recommend corrective and preventive actions. ● Track corrective actions and ensure the timely closure of audit findings and observations. ● Drive continuous-improvement and process-excellence initiatives across projects. ● Support release-quality planning, governance, documentation, and traceability. ● Conduct quality reviews with project managers, delivery teams, leadership, customers, and external stakeholders. ● Manage customer escalations and support the resolution of quality-related concerns. ● Drive customer-satisfaction and CSAT-focused quality initiatives. ● Prepare quality dashboards, management reports, presentations, and review inputs. ● Promote awareness of organisational processes, quality standards, and industry best practices. ● Support Lean Six Sigma and other process-improvement initiatives. ● Work with leadership teams to communicate risks, quality concerns, escalations, and recommended actions.

Mandatory Certification

● ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor Certification

Requirements

Required Experience

● Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in IT quality, Software Quality Assurance, Process Quality Engineering, or Process Excellence. ● Experience working predominantly in IT software or software-development organisations. ● Hands-on experience with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. ● Experience conducting internal quality audits and project-quality reviews. ● Working knowledge of CMMI Level 3 or Level 5 processes. ● Experience in QMS implementation, assessment preparation, and audit support. ● Experience defining and tracking project-quality metrics, risks, escalations, and improvement actions. ● Experience managing non-compliances, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions. ● Experience supporting customer escalations and satisfaction-improvement initiatives. ● Ability to independently interact with delivery teams, customers, auditors, and senior leadership.
