What you'll do

Perform assigned inspection functions in accordance with the prescribed standards of airworthiness and serviceability.
Familiarity with the applicable 14CFR 145 regulations and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness.
Responsible for the surveillance of all work in progress.
Ensure that the maintenance record entry required by § 43.9 or § 43.11, as appropriate, is completed, accept or reject work accomplished for all items generated on the inspection forms.
Perform receiving inspection of new or used parts intended for use on articles.
Verify calibrated tooling used is current.
Brief technicians on quality issues and ensure the maintenance personnel perform quality work.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector.
This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and periodic DOT regulations for drug and alcohol testing.

Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or AS9110 standards.
Certificated under 14 CFR Part 65, A&P License required and must be current as required by 14 CFR Part 65.83.

Nice to have

Ability to perform internal audits and understating of root cause/correction action analysis (RCCA) methodologies is a plus.

- Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.

- Must be multi-task/project oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced industry meeting established timelines.

· Must be able to use/understand Technical Publications, ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.

· Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids is required.

· Proficient in Quality Control Administrative duties such as performing Internal audits.

Physical Requirements

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull, stack, reach above shoulder level or carry light-weight materials.

- Due to regulatory requirements of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Safety Hazards of the job

- Exposure to hazardous chemicals, abrasive blast residue, paint fumes, high pitch sound may occur. Personal Protective Equipment required in specified areas.
