Your new company
You will be joining a principal and family-owned civil engineering contractor based in Birmingham operating within the rail industry. Working on major long-term programmes and framework agreements, this well-established and multi-accredited contractor plays a key role in enhancing critical infrastructure, supporting the delivery of large-scale rail, transport and urban connectivity improvements, delivering projects valued between £500k – £2m. They offer a strong pipeline of work for at least the next 6 years as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful and growing principal contractor with a family-like feel.
This is a full-time permanent position based initially on site in Coleshill with hybrid working.
Contracted hours: 40 hours per week, Mon – Fri
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial support across a portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring contractual compliance, cost control and commercial performance are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver successful project outcomes.

- Procuring subcontractors and suppliers, analysing quotations and negotiating orders.
- Managing subcontract agreements, valuations and final accounts.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will bring:
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Sound understanding of NEC forms of contract
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills and financial management capabilities
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence.
