Regional Compliance Manager

 

Location: Stirling (Regional Scotland)

Working hours: 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Robertson Facilities Management (RFM) provides hard and soft FM services, grounds maintenance and energy services for single and multi-site locations throughout the UK. RFM has grown significantly since its inception in 1999, with a turnover of £181m for FY2025 and employs more than 1500 people. We are now on a growth trajectory, with ambitious plans to grow the business to £300m turnover by 2030. Our plans for growth require RFM to ‘make the market’, and to be at the forefront of high value opportunities in the FM marketplace

Your new role

What you'll do:

• Lead regional compliance and assurance activity across Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and specialist services
• Line management responsibility for Compliance Team
• Assure quality of engineering delivery, including planned maintenance regimes and job plans
• Fulfil lead Authorising Person for required technical disciplines on behalf of RFM
• Ensure compliance with service specifications, statutory requirements and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
• Maintain governance of Authorised Persons (APs), ensuring appointments, competence and training are in place
• Review and maintain SOPs and EOPs, ensuring they remain accurate and fit for purpose
• Plan and deliver technical assurance audits, driving clear and accountable remediation action plans
• Provide clear technical guidance on engineering standards, procedures and legal compliance
• Work with operational teams to improve compliance and consistency of service delivery
• Report compliance performance and risk to the regional leadership team
• Drive continuous improvement and use of technology to enhance service delivery
• Oversee competency frameworks for engineers and technical staff across the region

What you'll need:

• Significant experience in technical Facilities Management (Hard FM)
• Experience operating in a compliance, assurance or Authorised Person governance role is essential
• Strong working knowledge of statutory compliance across M&E services (e.g. L8, Fire Doors, Electrical, Mechanical, Lifts)
• Proven experience delivering compliance, audits and assurance activities
• Ability to interpret and apply H&S and technical legislation in live environments
• Confident communicator, able to present to senior stakeholders and customers
• Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple priorities
• Membership of a relevant professional body (Desirable)
• Experience with CAFM systems (e.g. MRI Evolution, Maximo) (Desirable)
• Project management qualification (Desirable)
• Commercial awareness, including identifying compliance-led opportunities (Desirable)
• A valid UK Driving Licence is essential, alongside willingness to travel throughout the region.(Scotland)

 

The successful candidate will require a DBS/Disclosure Check before starting in the job.

Lead technical compliance and assurance across the Regional Scotland Hard FM portfolio. You will provide independent oversight of engineering standards, ensuring services are safe, compliant, and aligned to contractual and statutory requirements across healthcare, education, blue light and private sector environments.This role has responsibility for compliance and assurance across a diverse regional portfolio of complex environments.
