Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology

GenesisCare Murdoch is one of WA’s newest, state-of-the-art oncology centres, and as our services continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our close-knit multidisciplinary team.

This is a part-time position, working 28 hours per week, offering the opportunity to build broad oncology nursing experience across a diverse range of services.

Our Murdoch team works across Radiation Oncology, Theranostics, Clinical Trials and Team Based Care Clinics, providing a varied clinical environment where no two days are quite the same. You’ll work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality clinical care, education and support to patients throughout their cancer treatment journey.

More specifically, you will:

• Provide high-quality nursing care, supporting the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout treatment
• Undertake patient assessments, education, wound care and medication administration
• Support patients across our Radiation Oncology, Theranostics, Clinical Trials and Team Based Care services
• Manage your patient workload effectively while ensuring continuity and quality of care
• Work closely with doctors, Radiation Therapists, Patient Services, allied health and the broader multidisciplinary team
• Provide clear clinical handovers and maintain accurate patient documentation
• Follow medication management, clinical protocols and best-practice nursing standards
• Identify and escalate changes in patient needs and coordinate appropriate allied health support
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and the introduction of new treatments, medications and nursing practices

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• Current, unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Strong clinical nursing experience and a commitment to high-quality patient care
• Oncology experience, including Radiation Oncology, would be highly regarded but is not essential
• Nuclear medicine or Theranostics experience would be advantageous, however training can be provided
• Experience in wound care and medication administration
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and demonstrate empathy with patients and their families
• Strong clinical judgement, problem-solving and organisational skills
• A commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement and ongoing professional development
• Confidence using electronic clinical systems and Microsoft Office
