Job Description:

Takes call to provide 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays. Conducts forensic examinations and evidence collection for victims of sexual assault. Ensures competency and certification as defined by relevant state councils against sexual violence. Collaborates with medical and law enforcement professionals to support victims. Maintains accurate documentation and follows legal protocols for evidence handling. Provides compassionate care and emotional support to victims. Assesses victim needs and provides appropriate treatment or referrals. Works independently and follows established protocols. Communicates effectively with victim advocates and law enforcement. Participates in the prosecution phase of cases in a cooperative manner. Maintains ethical responsibility to remain unbiased during evidence collection. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs. [Required]

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ year hospital experience [Required]

Additional Information:

• Completion of a Sexual Assault Examiner 40 hour or more program of academic or continuing education coursework followed by 40 hours of clinical training.
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located. Please consult the relevant credential grid for detailed information regarding these requirements

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Adult (SANE-A) [Preferred]
• Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$33.08 - $58.04
