What you'll do

  • Demonstrates sound clinical practice in respiratory therapies including performing Pulmonary Function Tests and Spirometry.
  • Calibrates and maintains PFT machine according to manufacturer’s specifications. Including identifying and facilitating appropriate repair as needed.
  • Verbalizes understanding of record keeping procedure related to all respiratory therapies.
  • Maintain and adjust schedule according to patient care needs. Confirm scheduled appointments in advance.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly PFT lab including strict adherence to current disinfection protocols.
  • Performs comprehensive chart prep, including but not limited to reviewing the indication for testing, any individualized provider notes, and all prior relevant diagnostic testing.
  • Educate and coach patient with correct procedural technique to perform testing accurately. Demonstrate correct deliverance of medications if necessary.
  • Display competency in obtaining vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, oxygen saturation, height & weight.
  • Documents any relevant chart notes and electronically sends completed report to physician for review in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates competency in medical waste disposal according to company and regulatory policies.
  • Engages in effective communication with others at all times.
  • Demonstrates understanding of emergency and safety procedures.

Job Description

Supports the following locations:

Clifton, Fairlawn & Livingston

Essential Job functions:

  • Demonstrates sound clinical practice in respiratory therapies including performing Pulmonary Function Tests and Spirometry.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:

  • Current licensure to practice respiratory therapy in the state where you will work.

  • Ability to operate diagnostic/patient care equipment required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire required.

  • Previous knowledge and experience in pulmonary function testing required.

  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Pay Range: $33.99 - $42.50 Hourly



The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
