What you'll do
- Lead the design, development and maintenance of scalable, secure RESTful APIs and web services that power internal applications and external/partner integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including TPM's, BA's and developers, to understand business requirements and define API contracts, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Own integrations with third-party and partner REST APIs (and SOAP-based legacy/partner services where applicable) for supplier, GDS and payment-related data feeds.
- Completion of the assigned tasks within the agreed timescale with high reliability and minimal functional and technical defects.
- May be assigned to work within a development team or alone.
- Must be self-reliant in completion of advanced fault finding, debugging and performance tuning of applications and API integrations.
- Design and develop new applications, as well as enhancements to existing applications and APIs.
- Conduct thorough testing (including API/unit/integration testing) to ensure application and API functionality, security and stability.
- Provide technical support to resolve issues related to developed applications and integrations.
- Create and maintain technical and API documentation (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI) throughout the software development life cycle.
- Conduct code reviews with a focus on API design quality and security, and work as a mentor to junior developers.
- Provide task estimates to the TPM/Lead.
